What it really comes down to is not whether or not someone is gay. It comes down to people being treated equally.
~
It was only about 60 years or so ago that it was illegal for blacks to marry whites. Every single argument against gay marriage and equality is the exact same thing that was said against inter-racial marriage then.

I would definitely vote for gay rights. Why shouldn't gay folks get to have the same healthcare and tax benefits as hetero couples?
Yes I do. I say if two people love each other it shouldn't matter if they're both the same gender.
yeah. different strokes for different folks.
No I strongly believe that gay marriage is wrong and goes against everything in the bible about adam and eve but I also believe its your choice and who ever makes you happy then you should be with them and with that I would vote yes for gay marriage
It’s true that Leviticus 18:22 seems to discourage homosexuality, and though it stops short of specifically calling it a sin.
But the very same section of the Bible also prohibits making clothes by combining different materials (Leviticus 19:19), technically known as sha’atnez.
Similarly, Leviticus 20:13 condemns homosexuals to death, but the same punishment is mandated for people who curse their parents (Leviticus 20:9). Are you willing to pass laws that put children to death for speaking out against their parents?
And for that matter, Leviticus 20:10 demands the death penalty for both the man and woman involved in an adulterous relationship. Is that a law that the anti-homosexuality crowd advocates?
(Similarly themed passages in the New Testament, like Romans 1:26-27, are more complicated, but the same basic principal applies. Romans 1:26-27, for example, takes a negative view of both male and female homosexuality — though not actually calling either a “sin” — but in a much longer passage, starting at Romans 14:1, the same book demands tolerance and acceptance, even of sinners: “Welcome those who are weak of faith,” “[Do not] pass judgment on one another,” etc.)
p.s. I answered respectfully and would appreciate if anyone disagrees with anything I say to remain respectful thank you.
I support it
Honestly neither the government nor the bible should tell us who we can marry because that's telling us who we can love or cannot love
Good morning and long time no talk TIO. I have a gay brother. Of course I would vote for it. It bothers me a lot, when people want to take away their rights. They are human just like the rest of us.
Yup..... i do, i know two guys look a little weird romancing each other in public..........but u know the truth is- LOVE KNOWS NO BOUNDATIONS........
and LOVE IS TOTALLY BLIND>>>>
it is sometimes used!!! :P
"Is boundation a word or not?
Answer:
Although it is not a dictionary word, "boundation" has certain uses in scientific jargon. The actual word for a border or limit is "boundary", but in applications where limits are not of physical form, the word boundation is sometimes used. Examples include timeframes (in computer programming) and signal bandlimits (in waveform sampling)"
Marriage is between a man and woman and is holy. To change this would be to pervert what the bible intended. Why cant gays be happy with a legal partnership? If they dont believe in the word of god then why try to pervert its rituals?
Why can't straight people be happy with a legal partnership?
A lot of gay people believe in the word of God. Do you not know their are churchs who have Gay followers?
You make NO sense.

The various American Indian tribes lived here for hundreds of years before any bible ever was known to them. Yet they believed in a higher power and gave thanks after a sucesful hunt even stopping to pray for the spirit of the animal just killed. Just an example of those who never heard of a bible that god would not abandon.
The problem with some is that they believe it is a requirement that they push their religious agenda to "save us". But who will save them from their rediculousness and intolerance. I once was told by a Catholic that murdering doctors who gave abortions was justified. What is this insanity?
I have no problem with gay people. I have a problem with being gay.
hahahaha.......lol
I see nothing wrong with it, people can love whoever they choose in my book. However, I don't like it when homosexuals start abusing people because they assume they will be opposed to their marriage, it's like backwards racism. People should believe what they believe, but shouldn't go rubbing it in peoples' faces all the time.
well considering I have a gay uncle, les cousin and a gay friend I totally support it. I'm chritian and I see nothing wrong with being gay
one incident of this punishment having had to be carried out.
Another law to protect the lineage was the release of the bride and the groom from working or going to war for the first year of their marriage to have a year long honeymoon providing ample opportunity for conception and possibly even the birth of the first child before they were separated.
No here's why Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed forever. Amen. Since men chose to give up God and worship the creature, God could do nothing but give men into the control of the sinful things they preferred. When mn insist on following the depraved nature(sin nature), the natural result will be not love, but immorlity of the vilest kind
-As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!
Quit tying to shove your religion down peoples throats. Preach, if you must, but everyone needs to make thier decision on thier own just like when we vote.
It’s called separation of Church and State, not separation of God and State.
You've got to be pretty insecure to be worried about LGBTs having the same legal rights as heterosexuals. If you don't like what your seeing, then look the other way. Otherwise we slip down the slope to follow the Nazis and Al Qaeda. I think if God has a big objection he/she will handle it.
Leviticus 18:22
Leviticus 20:13
Romans 1:27
Jude 1:7
Leviticus 20:9
Leviticus 20:10
Just say what it says I can't find my Bible.
I would vote for it. This is a matter of equal RIGHTS, those rights enjoyed by the many cannot be denied to the few, or vice versa. If a particular church or religion does not want to recognize it, that is their right as private entities, however the legal and financial benefits that are bestowed upon married couples cannot be denied based upon race or sexual orientation.
I dont care but if they love eachother and fight untill people respect them i respect that and im cool with them aslong they dont touch Me i respect them and thats who they are people have to respect that cant make them be straight so...
I don't support or support it. It will be a waste of my time to vote for anything that has to do with it.
I would vote yes for gay rights because number one: One of my best friends is bi, two: because love isn't gender specific, and three: because it's just the right thing to do.
Yes. My answer is yes. Everyone on the yes side pretty much sums up my feelings about this.
I don't see these self-proclaimed "moral" Christians adopting orphans by the dozens. We're over populated enough as it is already. Less to feed, so that more can eat. I know many wonderful gay couples. They're diligent, productive, smart, and total opposites to the mean and nasty bible thumpers who oppose them. Heck, one of the most important person in our modern history that you don't know about was gay. He was persecuted and led to suicide for being gay. Yet we have all that we have now thanks to him. You wouldn't have such things as desktops, laptops, smartphones, or the ability to go on sites like this without him.
I understand your excitement but to me, not even a tesla does your face justice ;)
I think it's terrible. The bible does not say its ok it says it's sin, so if I had the chance then I would defiantly vote against it.

Vote Against, every time.
I would vote for it. Marriage is a legality in our world. You don't have to marry in a church, a magistrate can do it. There should be no question of "allowing" gays the same rights as everyone else.
As for the so-called Christians, nobody forces churches to perform marriages, they can always say no.
Some say if gay marriage is allowed it will change what marriage is. In the U.S. that has been the case from the beginning of our nation. We have always had two types of marriage: religious (marriage sacrament) and civil (based upon secular law). Virtually every couple married in a religious institution in the U.S. had two marriages performed on that day. One was the marriage sacrament which has no force of law except within the governing body of the officiating religious institution, and the other was the civil marriage where the government-issued marriage license was signed by the cleric who had been granted authority to act as an agent of the courts. Of the two, that is the only marriage recognized by the government.
The issue of same-sex marriage only affects civil marriage. The marriage sacrament remains untouched by the government as is the law of the land. No religious institution will be required to perform, recognize, or in any way sanction same-sex marriage. Our doctrine of separation of church and state prevents them from being bound by civil rights laws, and they are free to continue excluding anyone they wish for any reason they wish.
What is wrong with love without marriage? Just avoid the hassle. Or are we just trying to put marriage on a pedestal. To heck with the license.
A marriage is not legal (no matter where the ceremony was performed--see CalTex's answer) until the license has been filed with the state.
What is so fundamentally frightening to people about gay marriage? We say we are a nation of equality, but in so many ways, it just isn't true. As long as closed-minded people can enforce their bigotry through legislation, we never will be.
There's no way I'd vote no, and in so doing, tell other people that they will never be equal to me or the rights I myself enjoy. I would vote for gay marriage.
Marriage is over rated, I vote it down. When two married people work until they both retire, One loses there Social security benefits. Stay single live your life together, and reap the benefits.all gays should consider the cost of that paper, as well as straights.Ok,bring on the fire and brimstone.
SS was created during the depression for two reasons. One was that many women had been left on thier own while husbands looked for work. If they had no money they were put into "poor houses". The second reason was precipitated from the first; there was a cry from the people to do something to help those most hurt by the depression and the super rich "robber barons" became a prrime target. The people were starting to mount a demand to nationalize the wealth of the super rich.
It seems that the SS program was a better choice to pass than to have thier wealth take away.
Any private system will always have the problem of some people making the wrong choices (and some trying to make sure they do make the wrong choices so they can line thier own pockets). That will leave some broke, in the poor house, and history could repeat itself.
I'm against it .Definatly would vote against it .
What race are you? Because every single race, has fought for equality too.
I really don't care about who marries who. I would allow gay marriage because I have no reason to be against it.
Weather a person is gay or not should not matter. The only thing thatsh ouldis thier personality. No one should be so shallow that they cant just look past people's looks, abillities, or weather they are gay or not.~ And i cant think of any reason to be against gay marrige (for all of you strong christians, nowhere in the bible does it say het being gay is a sin)
But to answer your question, yes, i do support gay marrige, i have family, and friends that are gay, and i would be nothing without some of them.
I am totally oppose such type of practise in our society....
I am completely straight, but I strongly support gay marriage. It's love, and love doesn't have any limits. If two people of the same gender, want to marry each other; let alone, love each other, it's okay. A lot of these religious folks shouldn't even go by what the bible says.
Marriage is not a religious rite, it is a legal contract. You can have any ceremonial rite in any church, but until you file your marriage license with the state, you are not legally married. Why shouldn't every consenting adult be allowed to marry? Hetero couples deem it their right under our laws, why not gay folks as well?
