Why do teachers all ways have to boss kids around?

WHY???? ME???

Report as

It teaches you a lesson. I'm sure your teacher only "bosses" you around because your not following the class rules or not listening. Just so you know, the teacher is the boss of your classroom. Wait until you grow up and have to get a job. Most people would love a "bossy" teacher over their actual boss.

It gives them good discipline in the classroom and makes them think about the consequences of what they did.

I suppose it depends on the student. Some people are just stubborn and that makes the teacher have to "boss" the student around.

In every way that is true, coming from an actual student. Besides, like i said repeatedly, the just need discipline.
Report as
It does unless you have one of those students who simply don't listen. I have no problem with my teachers.

They do control the classroom. It's part if the job.
Report as
I couldn't be a teacher. With the way that some kids, not all, act these days I would definitely get into trouble.
Report as
these days teachers no longer control the pace of learning what is being learned or how things are being learned teachers just do what they are told by the boards and students
Report as

@swagnuggets123, you may only know teachers that allow the school board and students to dictate what they do in their classroom, but I assure you that I do not. I just wanted you to be aware not all teachers are like that. :)

It Is true!

There are still good teachers, and I can assure you that they have complete control of their classroom.

It is good they control the classroom. It can help students maintain discipline at all times.

because teachers aren't smart enough for any other profession so they try to boss kids around. can't stand when people praise them and treat them like gold. Most are dumb, have you seen the test they take to become a teacher? anyone can pass.

Again you have no idea what you are talking about. The state tests for certification are very difficult. Exactly how did YOU see the teaching test? You are not being truthful.

You are being rude in order to make teachers angry. Teachers are not only smart, but dedicated. We have to be in order to offer quality education in spite of attitudes like yours.
Report as
maybe its difficult for you Patricia. after I graduated college and started looking for a job, I decided just to substitute until I found a good job. To substitute you have to take the CBEST which is the same test teachers take. nailed it with no problem. Now I have my real job making double what a teacher makes. remember we all have opinions and that's how I feel about teachers. it's not up to a teacher if a student learns, it's up to the student.
Report as
just_saying I don't care who I make angry, it's and opinion, we all have them and have a right to voice them. all the stuff you say about being how dedicated teachers are is so redundant, I'm dedicated to my job as well, so get off your little pedestal . The students dedication is what's going to make them succeed not a teacher. I credit me being a an engineer, with my hard work not a teacher. Now I make double what a teacher will ever make.

The difference between you and me is that I can feel good about my profession without belittling others. As far as you telling me to get off my little pedestal, as you said we all have our right to our own opinion, so you don't need to tell me what I can say and what I can't.
Report as
keep feeling good. Sorry if I think teachers are a joke. a teacher didn't get me where I am today. I worked my ass off. now I make more money in half a year then a teacher does in one year. growing up teachers me told what I couldn't do. I took that motivation and ran a with it. now I could laugh in every teachers face who said it, and tell them hope you enjoyed your low paying job.
Report as
It's a small person who thinks that they have to belittle others, it makes them feel bigger.
Report as
and your comment means what to me? nothing. you can respond all you want, it won't take away the fact have a better and more stable career than a teacher.
Report as
I, for one ex-teacher, am very happy that you have made such a success of yourself! One of the unwritten goals of teachers is to produce children who are better than we are and will make the world a better place. So you see, in spite of your haughty attitude, we win! Thank you for sharing!
Report as
Wow, aren't you the intellectual giant! If you had true intellect you wouldn't feel the need to make others feel small. You think that there are others who could compare there profession to yours and feel good about themselves? I'm quite sure.
Report as
And your profession means what to me?

Teachers sometimes have to "boss kids around" to guide them in the instructional process. Teachers are responsible for the learning in their classroom and, at times, need to help students get back on track.
