Walk in pain clinics in Amarillo

IM looking for a walk in clinic that gives pain medication anybody know?

You're not thinking you'll just walk in, and they'll give you medication ... are you?
'Cause that's not the way it works.

You'll have to see a doctor, who will determine if you need medication - - then they'll write a prescription, which you'll have to take to a pharmacy to get it filled.

Why not just see your doctor?

Are you really looking for pain management or did you hear from a friend that that is a good way to find some recreational drugs? Stay away from recreational drugs... they dont improve your life. If you want serious pain management.... then you wouldnt want a walk in service anyway.

"walk in" clinic ... common term for what is now called "urgent care" clinics. Not your regular doctor, for immediate medical attention when it isn't an emergency.

I lived a block from one, years ago, when I lived in a tourist town at the beach. All the tourists came on the weekends - when doctor's offices were closed. Yet the hospital didn't want the ER tied up with non-emergency cases, so they ran a "walk in clinic" on weekends.

I know what it is Walt thanx.... That is still not a good way to deal with pain management. If this is what the person is truly looking for they need to see their own physician and allow that physician to learn about them. That one physician needs to find out what works for that person through trial and error. The key to pain management is to not use drugs if that is possible.

Most wont give any class 3-4 painkillers unless it's already on-file prescribed by primary physician because of the abuse.

No. You need to be referred to a pain management clinic by a doctor. I really hope you aren't just trying to play the system for drugs. People like that are the reason pain medication is so highly monitored and make it difficult for people who have a legitimate reason for needing medication.

It irritates me when people do stuff like this. Because of people like this doctors assume everyone is a junky.

Ah-hah, noticed that too aye??
Went to one of these 'walk-in's" while living in Cali. for legit Meds for severe Migraine and finally figured out after lotsa questioning, urine-test, bloodwork what the heck was going on! Had been traveling all over the world, so no ONE specific Primary Care Physician on file in the U.S. writing a script for me on the Meds. A foreign scrip meant Bubkes to them. Eye-opener!! Never even crossed my mind till then.. And nah, not normally that slow..lol..
Got my meds, and found a Doc. Next day...

Feel your pain! Herniated discs:L3 &L4! It does Suck.
I got lucky&found great SportsMed Doc yrs ago when all I was hearing was:"Surgery!"(nerves were in danger of being compressed& literally had to CRAWL to move). He put me into intensive Physical Therapy 7/week, Meds: Naproxen Sodium and Soma. Within week was moving almost normal, Discs had aligned to point of no immediate danger and pain was bearable. From then on have followed: "if feel any pain starting to go down leg, take 4 Naproxen S(Alleve)2x@day for couple of days, take the Soma for two nights ( I actually take only 1/2 a pill), "keep moving Carefully"( staying immobile actually adds to Muscle Spasms), and " exercise to strengthen stomach& back muscles". It's been 22 years and, No Surgery, Discs have pretty much Fused and Aligned on their own, I've not had a Major Episode in last 8 years, use the Soma maybe twice a year( and then only one night), and as long as I keep moving, exercise some and don't lift 100lb bags of Compost.. He, he. Have been ok on the L3 &4! Now developing probs on upper back, runs in family sooo, will have to get another MRI and work that out. Don't know if any of that could possibly help you but would highly recc.! Migraines??? Getting worse++++and no solution yet other than eating Imitrex like candy..NOT GOOD! Good Luck!
