Cadharnath, If killing people is your criterion for considering a religion "untrue" (see TheZ's answer if you want accuracy) we would have to ban Christianity as well.
How many people died in the Crusades? How many people died in the Inquisition and the various witch hunts? How many people have been executed for heresy? How many murders have been committed in the name of the church by the IRA or by the conflict between Lebanese Catholics and Muslims?
Islam doesn't condone murder any more than Christianity yet the fundamentalists of both religions can find enough encouragement in their scriptures to condone any kind of atrocity or aberration.
Before you condemn Islam too strongly, take a closer look at the religion most of us grew up with. The history of Christianity is not something anybody should feel smug about.
Yes, they have extremist sects that have no qualms to kill indiscriminately. Not all Islamist sects subscribe to that ideology. The ones that do are hard core. It is a great religion historically though, that can't be denied.
Do not lie and say that islam is a religion of terrorism because according to your bible this is what jesus came for from the new testament Luke 12 New International Version Not Peace but Division 49 I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! 50 But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! 51 Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. 52 From now on there will be five in one family divided against each other, three against two and two against three. 53 They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter in- aw against mother in law. Luke 19 New International Version 27 But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them?bring them here and kill them in front of me." where can i find peace?!!!
Islam, a religion of mercy, does not permit terrorism. In the Quran, God has said:
?God does not forbid you from showing kindness and dealing justly with those who have not fought you about religion and have not driven you out of your homes. God loves just dealers.? (Quran 60:8)
The Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, used to prohibit soldiers from killing women and children, and he would advise them: ?...Do not betray, do not be excessive, do not kill a newborn child.? And he also said: ?Whoever has killed a person having a treaty with the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise, though its fragrance is found for a span of forty years.?
Also, the Prophet Muhammad has forbidden punishment with fire.
He once listed murder as the second of the major sins, and he even warned that on the Day of Judgment, ?The first cases to be adjudicated between people on the Day of Judgment will be those of bloodshed.?
I'm afraid my friend that your ideas in dealing with Islam are unrealistic and unoriginal. The reason I said this is because many opponents before you proposed similar ideas and those ideas failed to bear fruition. Islam is an established ideology with 1400 years under its belt and has stood against the test of time (e.g Byzantyne empire, crusades ect).?I'm sorry, but I guarantee you that 1400 years from now, Islam will still be alive and well. And I'm pretty sure someone else like you in the future will post the same old thing on a blog while being oblivious to the fact that many critics in the past (and present) have tried to discredit Islam, but failed to achieve their goal in practice. It's called reality check.
Now which sounds better? " But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;" Matthew 5:44 OR "KILL those who don't believe?" You tell me, which one sounds good to you?
