A safe amount of weight to lose is about 2lbs a week so if you average it out as 4 weeks a month, you should be able to lose about 80lbs.

It really depends on how much you "need" to lose and how many calories you consume vs. how many you burn off.

I don't believe in "dieting", I know I can eat any kind of food I wanted - which most diets exclude some foods - and still lose weight based on portion sizes and burning off the calories.

How much does the person weigh foremost and is this to build confidence or medical reasons. There is so much to know of this question before you can get a logical result. There are so many diets and workout programs that will help you to your goal. It's just what works for you. How many pounds is your weight goal. Remember this includes a lot of self discipline to lose the weight. So a determined individual who does 3 strenuos workouts and 2-3 low cardio workouts a week and a disiplined diet may lose up too seventy pounds or more.
