You should consider reading "Life, how did it get here? Creation or evolution" I personally don't believe in the theory of evolution yet many people consider it to be fact though its not... hence why it's called a theory. It claims that by numerous random selections caused us to develop from plants to fish, to amphibian, to reptile, to bird, to mammal to man. When in all reality it's not logical, they desperately search for fossils to bridge the gap from animal to man, many people think they have which realistically they haven't. The things they find simply show "variety of kind" more so than "evolution", we all know there's been several kinds of species that have come and gone that are different from what we have today but yet can all be related to one animal or another. Also, why are we no longer "evolving"? They claim this is our final stage, which is the only claim they can possibly make due to the fact plain and simple it's not happening! If we're the final form, well why isn't my cat turning into a human? That surely wouldn't be it's final form, if it's a matter of random selection all those times why is it so hard to win the lottery 5 consecutive times in a row yet alone once? Then of course there's other facts to be considered. For example from the basic observations that to go from a fish to amphibian would take reconstruction of the spine, organs, the way they see, hear, communicate, and live all the way to more complex factors like it would take genetic mutations to break our DNA to cause these changes which IS NOT POSSIBLE. Our genetic codes cannot be cracked! Which the government has certainly tried, they're the reason we have all these drugs. Because they created them in attempts to create "truth serums", "super soldiers", etc. But they have failed because our genetic code doesn't work that way otherwise we'd have Superman, Spider-Man, zombies all of those things! To many people a "grand creator" sounds illogical but most of them don't know (or even care to attempt learning) how creation could be they simply assume. Most people tie several religious views together and don't even realize it... that's just a few examples in a nut shell. If your curious, consider the book I mentioned above.
You don't have to believe in something that has evidence to support it- that would be evolution. There is a reason evolution is the central unifying theme of all biology- because it is supported by a mountain of hard evidence. We have witnessed it in both the lab and the wild. At this point, particularly with evidence from genetics, evolution denial is akin to believing in a flat Earth.
I "believe" in evolution like I "believe" in gravity. According to Dictionary.com, belief is defined as "confidence in the truth or existence of something not immediately susceptible to rigorous proof". Belief has nothing to do with evolution or gravity, because both have passed the rigorous proof test.
Creationism and Intelligent design are basically the same thing and that is what i believe in. HOWEVER i do not believe Creation OR ID preclude many aspects of what science has labeled 'evolution'. God, being God, could very easily have chosen to start things out with a big bang and take several thousands of years to form the earth from there. After all 'to God a day is as a thousand years' right. Much of Darwins theorys are seen as flawed even by science these days, some have even been proven incorrect so i dont pay him much mind, except as an interesting read.
I accept evolution due to overwhelming evidence for it and no evidence for creation. As for evolution guided by intelligent design, well, that goes directly against Occam's razor. Until proof of a creator is revealed, there's no reason to believe in one.
Creation, followed by evolution, if you believe in god you should be able to accept this , god could choose the means to an end. You know, he works in mysterious ways, his wonders to perform. "Im JUST SAYIN"!
