Well it says in complex that the word soul is of someone having spirit, flesh, and a heart and can be used or explained in numerous ways, but I would say that he does have a soul like all of us too and can commonly be accounted for also of what FatKenney just explained in his answer....
God is a spirit. Doesn't say anywhere in the bible that He is a soul. I think a soul was given to us humans which is our mind, will and emotions. I believe we as humans are made up of spirit, soul, and body. God is spirit.
God is infinite & we are finite. We are limited. We will never fully understand God. JOB 42 says.... 1 Then Job answered the LORD, and said, 2 I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee. 3 Who is he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

I would rather quote you Napoleon: "If I gave my pocket-watch to a savage, he would think that it has a soul"!
However, we are yet to have a tangible definition of SOUL from the theological aristocracy -- the inventors of the impossible AIR called SOUL! God, so far, is only a wishful guess; just like the soul is.

Let's do a hypothetical and assume for a moment that 1. God exists 2. He is a spirit being. 3. And, on a human level, soul, spirit, bio-energy field, and mind are attributes of that life force which keeps us from wilting like a dead nasturtium and never visiting Ask again.
Given 1, 2 and 3 it seems possible that God is made of the same essence as #3. If so then God doesn't HAVE a soul. He IS a soul.
