Is their a worm in the silk cocoon after the silk is threaded? what comes out of the cocoon?
The silk worm gets killed before the silk is threaded, when the cocoons are put in water (and boiled I think). From cocoons that remain untouched and in which the worm can fully develope, a butterfly hatches finally.
A moth comes out, which does not exist in the wild and is completely domesticated by humans. http://www.life.illinois.edu/robertson/personnel/Kevin_Wanner/male%20silkworm.jpg
