Money appears to be everything because of the way Envy is promoted in our society. U.S Dollars are just printed paper. How much money you have does not define a person, but its how you made your money and what you do with it that truly matters. Wall Street believes money is what makes the world go round, but as we know now Money is what makes the world stop spinning. Inflation and Greed are what really are crippling our Economy. Alot of the times prices are blown up to a value that is not what it is worth. Just make sure that you are aware of everything you buy. Figure out where it is made, how it is made, and how it gets to the store. Those are key to figuring out what is overpriced and what is underpriced, which is of better value to you, and what is necesary to you. Live frugal, dont buy rich if you can't afford it. Luxury is not always Luxurious.
Money is important to buy food, cloths and daily things but yes money can never buy true love nor real friends. It's ok if at the moment having money and materialistic things can give you that, but I'm not sure you would enjoy it as much if it wasn't for your friends and family, who make you feel like you belong and show you love!
This is basically due to the ruins of the economy and the increasing price in living standards. Money is the key to survival thus people have termed it as being "everything" to them. For more information on the economy and money world wide, check http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Money.
