What is a good, durable brand of ear buds?

I have this little problem with ear buds where I'll buy a pair, they'll be great for about two weeks (once they only lasted two days) and then one will

A) stop working entirely,

B) will only work at certain intervals

C) One earbud stops working
or
D) only plays music (very quietly) if you turn it up to what is supposed to be full blast and will occasionally switch to the volume it's supposed to be at full blast.
I can't wear big headphones that go over your head, those give me a headache (my head is a bit larger then normal and I have naturally big hair). Any ideas?

Skull candy earbuds are NOT GOOD! They've always ended up breaking in the first month (for me). I would reccommend beats by dre, expensive, but worth it. They last long and have great quality. If theyre not in your price range, bose or other brands are better than skull candy. But if the earbuds are under 50, dont buy them.

For the Win it's Beats by Dr. Dre. I just bought a pair of "real" headphones from him and I've never heard sound quality this good. Well played!

Personally, I prefer headphones, preferably noise-canceling ones--I can't get earbuds to stay in my ears. And headphones are much sturdier.

Two suggestions: JVC made earbuds that were awesome, the first pair I ever owned and they lasted for me for 2 years without any slippage or loss in sound quality. I've never been able to find them again, so I'm guessing they're no longer manufactured. Second, even though you said headphones cause you problems, look into a pair of beats by Dr. Dre. They fit *completely* over the ears and don't crush them, and they fit my HUGE HEAD quite well. A bit more expensive, but worth every dime - the very best sound quality in any listening devices I've ever owned in 45 years.

Try skull candy. The nice ones are around $30. $100-$150 for beat earbuds seems a little much, so I'd try to find any other good ones before I drop more money on the earbuds than I did on my old iPod nano.

Skull Candy. I also recommend the new Apple Earpods. The sound is great and it has volume control on the wire.
