How do I naturally remove black hair dye?

I dyed my hair with a box coloring and i hate it so much. I don't want to use bleach or color removers because they are too harmful. If any one has tips or a way on how to get this crap out of my hair i would sooooo appreciate it! Thanks!

I'm a stylist for 12 years. There is no way to safely remove black hair dye. Especially at HOME. Those kits they sell to remove color DON'T work and they ruin your hair. My best advice go to a salon and talk to a professional

You could just wait for it to grow/wash out.

You can't, sorry! Just as you put it in harmfully, you have to take it out the same way.

That also happened to my cousin and she saw it started coming out with just washing your hair. She noticed the hazy water coming out when she put shampoo i know this doesn't help much but... this helped her.

I would call the company of the product you used and explain. Maybe they will have a safe method - you can't be the only person who was dissatisfied. I would think the company must anticipate this happening. Or see a professional and ask for tips BEFORE you re-color it. Good luck.

Sit and wait until you can cut it all out. Even if its not permanent dye, it's extremely difficult to fully revert back to your natural hair color. Even more difficult the lighter your hair color is.

Getting your hair bleached by a professional can reduce any damage the bleach would cause considering the hairdressers accessability to products.

experience from past experience, you'll either have to get it done professionally, or use bleach (which as you mentioned,is terrible for your hair) however, if you get it done professionally, it'll minimizes the damage.

As a salon professional, the methods that you must employ are very rough on the hair, Bleaching it makes it terribly weak, and dry and usually lift to an odd color tone. Also keep in mind, color correction services are rather pricey and you may not get a result your happy with. If you still want to correct the color please, go to a qualified colorist for a consult.... no more experimenting at this point

The kits they sell to remove color are horrible. I used one that advertised that it was gentle and it melted my hair. Just let it grow out and color it as soon as it is safe. If I had it to do over, I would wear a wig. Terrible experience.

Use lemon juice and put it in you hair, then put a shower cap on. Leave it in overnight or throughout the day. It wont strip the black but it will remove a lot of the color and make it lighter. trust me I've done it already

There are natural remedy's that can help lighten hair a little(it def won't go from black to blonde but it will lighten slightly. Vitamin C tabs(NOT chewable.)Take a few pills& crush them up as finely as u can(wrap in plastic wrap&bang a rolling pin over it.)Take crushed pills& put it in shampoo(can be any shampoo,I recommend a head & shoulders type,or dish washing detergent 4 added stripping benefits) Wet hair beforehand. Lather mixture in hair, take plastic wrap/shower cap to put over.Leave on for a few hrs &rinse. After use a great conditioner(especially if u used the detergent.)I recommend coconut oil(or olive oil)let it sit for a few min @ least, to replenish moisture. After u rinse the oil/conditioner out, it should be a little lighter.U can repeat process for extra lightening, just make sure u condition well/use oil treatments.I also heard that oil, cinnamon,& honey can be used.Boil onion, let simmer then add to a bowl filled w/ honey, drop lemon juice &cinnamon until it forms paste, 4extra thickening u can use a bit of conditioner wrap & sit for few hrs. These natural remedy's won't have the same drastic effect as professional hair stripping agents, but it's less damaging to hair.

I have had red and black built up in my hair, this is what iv done and my hair has turned out really good. My hair grows very slowly and I have grown it 6 inches using coconut oil since winter.

Under $100

- grow hair a few inches
- use pure coconut oil every 3 days (chemist warehouse) $11.99
- section hair into 4
- put 5 foils per section or use a tip cap if difficult
- use 10 - 20% vol dependant on hair type no more
- bleach until 40 -50 mins ends only
- rinse and apply coconut oil don not shampoo
- leave 3 days
- tone hair use salon colour 10.1 with 1.5% vol ( hairhouse warehouse)
- apply to ends
- you can keep hair tyed up and no one can see it and avoid blow dryers and heated appliances
- re apply process on remaining black hair only (wait a couple weeks) don't touch roots ends only
- once ends are bleached don't stress if they are orange or yellow
- toner from (hair house warehouse) eg 10. 1 shade with 1.5% vol
- keep using coconut oil every couple of days and avoid heat
- you can either leave a dip dyed look or go over it with a semi eg 6.1 with 1.5% vol to coat the hair.

Feel free to ask me for before and after photos
