what do I do to keep my niece happy and her mind off her dyslexia?
She really needs the stress relief before she "gives up on herself"!

I feel so bad for her because of her learning disibilty and all! :(

take her out shopping at a store that sells stuff she likes, or get her something like a craft kit or drawing supplies to work with for fun, those things can work as stress relief.

Help her to cultivate a hobby or sport that she is good at. Find things she does well and then encourage her to find ways to turn those interests into more. If its sports, help her find a team. If its art or dance, maybe some classes would be helpful. Even crafting classes are available. She needs something that she can do well in so she can be proud of her accomplishment.
Hopefully her school is helping her with her dyslexia. When my cousin had this problem as a child ( like 7 or 8) I remember that she had to trace letters over and over again. I liked to do it with her. One big letter per sheet of paper. We took turns with different color crayons until each letter was brown. Then we spelled words with the letters and made our moms read them. they would pretend that they had to sound out the words and we would laugh at their pronunciation and correct them.
