Any other Christians go through this? Please help me (plz read details)

ok so I've always been Seventh-Day Adventist (Christian) but now I don't think I believe in God or any of that stuff anymore. but if someone talks bad about Christianity I defend it with my life and when people ask me what I am I'll say Seventh Day Adventist/ Christian and I still willingly go to church and follow the 10commandments and I will not eat unkoesher foods. Does this mean I'm just going through a weak point in my faith and I still believe or I don't believe anymore but because I've been doing it for a long time I won't stop practicing. Btw when I pray I feel like I'm praying to nothing but I still Pray.

I experienced this. I was atheist but Christian. It seems like an oxymoron and no one would understand. They just said have faith and Holy Spirit blah blah. After years of slowly stepping away from the lifestyle that included Christian practice I am now atheist. I still don't murder or steal and am a good person I just don't believe in god. It's my opinion that if there is a god it will see me for just who I am and understand why I don't believe and forgive me for it- that thought guided me to my lifestyle now and I am a happy person with much less fear in my life.

Plus there is no God, and just try getting a plumber on the weekend, or in New York, or something.

They're trying to make us pay to switch from septic to sewer. But that hasn't happened yet. I think that was Woody Allen.

truthisobvious, i dont mean to be rude at all, but fear used to rule over my life and when i realized that i am just who god created me to be, it changed. God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love and a sound mind. The devil will be happy to fill you with fear and when you give in, it creates a wall between you and God. Fear wars against faith. But we are all entitled to our own, and i just wanted to give you mine.
Report as
The devil can only give you fear, ginnyboy, if you believe in him. Which you do, and we don't.
Report as
Novelty is right- I have no deity to fear be it god or devil. That's great your experience as a Christian has served you well because mine was one of powerlessness, fear and far from sound mind. God offered me nothing in the way you have been spoiled ginnyboy, I had to find all the good things in life on my own.

God still loves you very much and he's very real. He's not going to let you go that easy. Just speak your heart out to him. Tell him what your going though and how you feel. Have you accepted his Son, Jesus yet? That could be it.

sounds like your stuck in routine, warming the pew... all i can say is i think it will pass, but if you keep down this path of routine you, will only grow farther away from God. Ask him for a hunger that only he can fill, it says to stir up the flame inside of us, i think maybe your just dealing with doubt and unbelief, and that my friend is something you will have to choose to get rid of.

I used to be an Adventist, but when I turned about twelve I realized that more bad came than good so I figured god, if he existed at all, wasn't as good as the bible makes him out to be.

More and more people face this these days. Unlike before, there is a vast amount of science and research to help people realize the claims of religion are bunk. A lot of people face what you face, and end up atheist. It's not a bad thing. All religion will eventually dissolve. It's unsustainable.

Meaning.....what? God is going to return too soon?

There are a couple of those predictions that have failed already, you know:

Yes I do know. But obviously those people were clueless on the actual signs. Many assume because they haven't been RAPTURED yet, it's not close. They need to get their heads out off the computer and look at what's actually going on in this world.

And it's not the end when Christ comes. Another misunderstood idea.

I maintain that every believer just KNOWS in their precious little heart, that God will come back while they're awake, while they're sober, and while they're not doing anything ... embarrassing.

Don't be embarrassed, you just don't understand because you choose not to. It's not for everyone to know. But the AC is in power. The mark is soon to be implicated (RFID) Israel is almost at war. This world is falling apart at the seems with earthquakes. Storms into the R's and killer tornadoes. MASSIVE droughts, the midwest is almost desert. Kids killing kids. Parents killing kids. It's all happening now.
Report as
All the stuff you mention though, has been happening forever. Nothing new, certainly.

I'm not embarrassed. I don't have fools like Kent Hovind speaking for me. THAT would be embarrassing...

Novel, Christ named the AC, he said a specific name in conduction with satan. No mistaking that. And there's no such thing as coincidences. He named him and he just happens to fit the description of Daniels little horn. The no 666 (which is a clue to his identity) surrounds him. And there has not ever been anything that will stop the use of cash like the RFID. It's happening. Believe me, when I really think about it I get very overwhelmed that this is happening so soon. But I pray and realize I'm taken care of. It's happening.

There is a spooky conspiriacy happening? Not likely. All those claims are so far from supported its ridiculous. Believe what you want but the churches are the only thing burning and ending.

Yes, when I was a doubter myself. Guess why it bothers you? The Holy Spirit is guiding your feelings. You are being guided. You just need to go with it instead of fighting it.

I believe it's because you are trying to do things out of your own will power and not being guided by the Holy Spirit. I suggest you find a church that operates out of the Holy Spirit perhaps a Penecostal or non-denominational church that believes in the laying of hands to receive the Baptism of the Holy Spirit like it speaks of in the book of Acts. God Bless!

Welcome to reality, the vast majority of religious people feel and act the same way as you. They are only going through the motions because their families or peers do it, when the truth is most of them are doing it for the same reason. So don't feel bad, you're not alone.

I went through that as a young person myself. I went through a several year period of study in theology, history, philosophy, and science. I am now an atheist.

I would suggest study, trying to keep as neutral as you can about possible answers. It may not lead you to the same place it lead me, but at least you'd be making an informed choice.

Though we have not arrived to the same spiritual ideology (for lack of a better term and I don't want to use the term conclusion because that insinuates we are done with our journey of enlightenment) I can agree with this statement. Star from me and God bless.

Well, since I dislike others trying to sell me their religion, it would be hypocritical to try and sell her atheism. Only she can come to a decision on what she believes.

Questioning is normal. If we never questioned we would still be practicing humorism in a feudal society. I believe the same is true for God. Here I remember my own studies and experiences and it strengthens my faith. I pray God gives you what you are looking for. God bless.
