The Beatles are still held in high regard and their music is still being played and enjoyed all over the world. In two years, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who still remembers One Direction. The answer is NO.
Your statement reflects your lack of knowledge in music as well as your lack of taste.. As I've said before There not good enough the change the strings on Georges guitar!. Do you seriously believe anyone will talk about them in 2063?

Oh GAWD!!!! I just choked on my coffee!!!!
Yesterday I gave you two great links to the history of the Beatles. I think you REALLY need to listen to their music. They were/are extremely talented musicians. They invented ways of recording that are taken for granted in today's electronic era. They did not have the luxury of computers to make their music for them. They generated everything you hear. They wrote the music and lyrics, helped in production, played ALL of their instruments. They were constantly pushing the boundaries of musical creation.
You would do good to see this documentary about the Beatles. It goes into detail regarding their beginnings and their growth.
I think One Direction is most likely a flash in the pan band that will disappear in the next few years just like all the other boy bands. Boy bands just do not have the stamina to go beyond their teen audience. I know you like them, but as you grow, they most likely will not. Some examples: New Kids on the Block, NSYNC, 98 degrees, Backstreet Boys, etc......
About the only thing The Beatles and One Direction have in common is that they have adoring fans.
Absolutely not. Far from it. Until "One Direction" completely revolutionizes the music industry, creates genres with a single song, and creates and entire culture, they will never compare to the Beatles
I don't know much about the Beatles except the story about "I buried Paul"....but I think one direction sucks. I don't like the Beatles either...to basically I do think the Beatles are one directions in 2013.
One Direction and The Beatles simply do not compare. Per example, The Beatles recorded ALL of their music THEMSELVES. Yeah, they might have used some "revolutionary" things here and there, but so what? All of One Direction's music, except the acoustic guitar, is electronically produced. Another example, which goes for all old music, not all of The Beatles' songs are love songs. Pretty much all of "today's music", including One Direction songs, are.
Sorry, dude, but just because they're both British bands, that doesn't automatically mean that they're both that awesome. I think I speak for everyone here in saying that.
Wow, these answers are just sad. To the people who say they suck & have no talent, I'm pretty sure you're either a guy and/or never heard their music. One Direction has talent & so do/did the Beatles. But, One Direction is better looking than the Beatles. One Direction was able to be more successful than the Beatles. They're both from the same continent… So in a way, they sort of ARE the 2013 Beatles…
K first of all for all of you guys hating on One Direction they do have talent! Look how far they are now! They used to be normal people just like us (And they still are!) But know they are really popular. All you guys are doing is just putting yourself down to a lower level by saying that! The bands are very alike and have a different style and they both have really good music! And just because someone asked about One Direction on here doesn't mean its a joke! Everybody has a different type of taste in music. My taste IS One Direction and if you have a problem with that and all the other people who like One Direction why don't you guys just keep it to yourself and let the One Direction fans be One Direction fans. Okay??
I agree the beatles were and are the greatest band off all time. And yes if you really think about it and leave your feelings toward one direction aside and look at the facts alone. They really are the beatles of 2013. The only reason you people say that they aren't is because you have developed some sort of hate toward them.
