Why should you eat healthy food rather than unhealthy food before a big run?

you should eat healthy foods because they have better energy that lasts longer and helps to promote stamina however unhealthy foods are usually made up of energy which usually comes from the sugar in the unhealthy food which gives you a boost of adrenaline which will wear off very soon
so the healthier the food the longer you energy will last

I would say NOT a heavy meal. Something to provide lasting energy, easy to digest. Oh, yes, and preferably healthy. I would assume an athlete takes care of their body.
