When you get tested for HIV don't they stick a needle inside of you?
What about a saliva test?? What about a urine test?
If you need to have HIV tests done, you would have to have blood drawn. At my hospital we only draw one tube and ship it out for testing.Saliva cannot be tested for HIV because that is not one of the ways that it can be transmitted (you don't get HIV from kissing someone who has it). The same can be said for urine.
I think so but don't worry I'm sure if you don't think about it it won't hurt ;)
Iwegfre, I'm sure someone didn't one day just invent the needle and say "I'll just use this" without testing it. You're in a 1st world country; everything is used for your safety and well being. Don't worry, when your appointment is over, it's over.
There are even home HIV tests now. You don't have to be stuck w a needle
Kill two birds with one stone. Go and donate blood. You will be informed if you are HIV positive.
