Those people think that they get free stuff when they vote for him.... Sometimes they think he is a good president and they get pushed into his speeches, which are total lies, that they vote for him! they also think that he can fix everything! Hope this helps! Follow me!
There appear to be three reasons, which I freely admit may be politically biased: 1. They are Democrats without the ability to think critically. 2. They were given something for free, and wanted to keep it. 3. Romney was successfully painted as someone to run from. The campaign struggled to find something to run on, a success that would be why Obama should be re-elected. That's why they spent hundreds of millions in character assassination of Mitt Romney. They also had the assist of half a billion in free advertising by a willing media who gave him no close scrutiny and produced one puff piece after another to bolster his poor performance with laudatory words. Appearances on Leno and other entertainment and talk shows, followed by a few gifts to his base (Obamacare, Dream act, college loans, free birth control) cemented his numbers among key constituents. But Republicans lost because they did not turn out their base; 7 million less votes for Romney vs McCain.
Excellent question. I think these people may have voted for him for 2 reasons. They don't watch Fox every night and so are able to differentiate republican scare tactics from truth, and Romney wouldn't stop flip floping during his campaign. other than wanting Obama more than a first, second, and third lady that is.
As a Republican staring at what's labeled as the republican party these days, I just point and laugh at their little Tea Party with their golden tea cups and saucers. They call Ron Paul crazy, while considering the likes of Perry, Santorum, Bach, and Palin as sane. Can't have much of a debate these days, since all oppositions are just mainstream headlines on the repeater. Most of the time, it's just a reply saying "You're wrong!" or "That's full of bs!". It's as if people want to believe something they don't know about. They want to believe that Obama spends so much, but out of their lack of education they can't comprehend the fact that congress passes the budget. So a mere "You're wrong!" is sufficient to appease their ignorance. What some people don't understand, is the difference between a debt and a deficit. Well the deficit has been reduced during Obama's presidency, not as much as anyone would like, but at least it's in the works. Quite contradictory to another ignorant person's mantra of "spend spend spend!"
I am motivated by social issues. I liked Obama's stand on social issues better than Romney's. But it also appeared that Obama's fiscal policies were succeeding, so no need to change horses in mid stream.
Pick one. All are true of someone: 1) They didn't like Romney. 2) They felt entitled to Obama's promises. 3) They felt others should receive Obama's promises, even if they did not believe in entitlement. 4) They always vote Democrat. 5) They felt the Republican party offered no hope this election. 6) They saw similarity between Romney and Bush and did not want to return to the 2008-2009 depression trend.
