Why do I faint when seeing someone else's blood?

I'm 26 and always got queasy when I lost blood, but never when I saw other people bleeding. Now, the last 2 times I saw people bleeding, I fainted. Can you obtain this phobia in your twenties? I've seen a lot of blood and never had this happen.

It can happen. I once spoke to a blood bank nurse who said she used to faint at the site of blood. She took her current job just to help her get used to it. It worked.

It's probably an irrational response, a little like a phobia.
