What do you do when you hurt your friends feelings?

I have this best friend. He was making fun of anime, blah, blah, blah, anyways, I told him, "We'll look at your body, is your head bigger than your body?" Then, I hurt his feelings. I don't know what to do, we sit next to each other in class, what do I do?

Apologize. Don't make excuses, simply say, "I was wrong to make fun of you. I'm sorry I hurt you. You're my friend, and I value our friendship. I won't do this again." And then, never do it again.
