My ex said he didn't want a relationship, but when he was ready he would try . He said he still liked me a lot. What does that mean?

Maybe he's not ready for the commitment that comes with a relationship. And the fact that he told you he still likes you a lot could PROBABLY mean that he's just trying to make sure that he is really ready to be with you. There are responsibilities for both of the people in the relationship. I guess it depends on how he became your ex in the first place. Maybe he doesn't want it to happen again.

If you two are on good terms, you both need to really talk about this----I mean, in depth. You have to say that you're getting mixed signals and are entitled to an explanation. If you still don't get any answers you need, then you should probably just forget about being in a relationship with him if he can't communicate his thoughts to you. You should stick to being friends until you both understand each other.

He doesn't want a relationship, but he will try when ready. Self explanatory.

He likes you, but he's just not ready for one... Maybe he's afraid of the responsibilities in being in a relationship
