Books, distractions, tv, look up good jokes that make you laugh, text and conversate with your best friend, YouTube things. Sleep so your mind can get rest, cold water, and most effectively is this - exercise. This releases alot of stress and it works for alot of people.
I taught myself a form of meditation that I made up, involving imagining putting all your worries into a big bag, then tying up the neck of the bag really tight and throwing it into a corner. It actually works, I feel noticeably calmer afterwards. I hope this helps you.
