My neighbors 2000 or 01 Volvo V70 station wagon fuel door release button is in-op. A crowbar would open it, but she's against that idea

She went to get gas but couldn't get the fuel door to open. The button isn't doing anything & the hatchback release is also in-op. Is their a manual release to unlock the fuel door? Can it be unlocked from the outside by slipping something in back of the fuel door & popping the lock off? If anybody has a Chilton or knows where I can find the schematics it'd be super. thank you in advance

They used to have a manual release in the trunk. But you said you looked there, it might be a fuse or relay, but only volvo knows where those are. It's time she took it to a dealer for repair.

Problem-no trunk it's a wagon not the kind that you're used to pilgrim

There used to be a pull ring by the spare tire. I haven't worked on one in quite a few years.

May have to take off the interior panel to get access !

Our new Toyota's was behind a panel in the back, so maybe your right Duke.

If it's a wagon , then I'm pretty certain you can get access with the plastic interior panel off !

Suggest C-4 then she might be more inclined to use the crowbar.

At the moment the best info I could find for a quick no-cost solution is....There should be a lever to manually open the gas door. V70 means it is a wagon so it is going to be on the same side as the fuel door inside of the car. The handle is usually yellow or a neon green. Check where the jack is kept.
