First it's just one or two. The three, four, six, ten...... See where I'm going with this? They're not good for you, and really make you stink. So, stop now BEFORE the addiction kicks in. Once you're hooked, it's hard, so hard to stop!
The problem is depending on your physical make up, you could be the type that gets easily addicted to nicotine just like certain people can have a drink or two while others have one and they're on a drunken 2 day binge. If you're not already hooked on smokes, stop now. It's hell trying to quit after you're hooked.
