Just curious, do high schools still have dances with live bands like they did in the 60's ? Like on Fri and Sat after games?

What all does a DJ do?

That was my whole reason for going to a dance - to listen and watch the band. I can't tell you home many dances I went to and never danced once and still had a great time. Can't do that anymore.

They should. They were so much fun. Kept kids off the streets and you could meet the opposite sex, dance, sneak a kiss, and show off your new clothes. Some popular bands got their start at dances.
Some of the local nightclubs would also hold dances for 16 to 21 year olds. The liquor stayed on one side and the kids on the other. I saw some good old singers back in the days. The Four Tops, Temptations and Wilson Picket. Would have loved to see James Brown.... Oh those were the good ole days.

I loved those days, I just didn't live where groups made it big, the closest was probably Paul Revere and the Raiders
