It would be hard to make the character fall in love with the reader... but you can make it a book where the teacher can like pick some choices and those choices lead to more and more... so eventually branch them off and end with them making the character fall in love with the reader anyway.

It could be quite difficult to write such a story. This is because the character is a totally different being from the reader and it would also depend on the kind of reader for the book. However, you could phrase the story in a manner where the character seems to be speaking to the reader.

The only really effective way to make the main character fall in love with the reader is to be very vague with the description of the character. I wrote one similar, only I'm turning it into a novel that I've been working on for years. You cannot specify age, race, gender, etc... otherwise it becomes a specific character and makes it harder for the reader to use their imagination as to what/who the character is.
