Doing research for a book who are the ones responsible for putting Jesus to death?

I am starting a book soon and I am just doing a little research first. It is not religious, but has some religious elements in it. I just need to know who is responsible for Jesus death in any shape or form such as taking bribes, who actually nailed him to the cross or any corrupt officials that played a part in it. Also if you know the names of the people who were crucified along with Jesus that would be helpful.

Matthew 27:25 says Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. The statement “His blood be on us and on our children,” proclaims a statement so lightly said, but bearing such fearful consequences. The malediction they invoked upon themselves and upon their children rests upon them still, and was, and is, a malediction of appalling horror and suffering.
John 19:15 says but they cried out, away with, him away with him, crucify, him. Pilate saith unto them shall I crucify your King? The Chief Priest answered;” we have no king but Caesar”. It was the Religious Leadership of Israel, that stand the most culpable.

Zechariah 13:6 says and one shall say unto Him “what are these wounds in thine hands? Then He shall answer those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends. This will be immediately after the Second Coming, with the Antichrist now defeated, and Christ standing before Israel. They will know beyond the shadow of a doubt that. He is the Messiah. These wounds, which He will ever carry, will be an instant and constant reminder of Who He is, and what was done to Him, which presents Him as the sin-bearer of the world. Even though He was the Redeemer of all mankind, still, this shows how He was treated by man, and especially His Own.

The central theme of the word of God is “Jesus Christ and Him Crucified” (1 Cor. 1:23; 2:2) In fact, “The Cross” is the Foundational Doctrine of the whole Bible. Peter said: “Forasmuch as you know that you were not redeemed with such corruptible things as silver and gold, from your vain conversations (lifestyle) received by tradition from your fathers; But with the Precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you: ( 1 Pet. 1: 18-20) So, this means that every single Doctrine in the Word of God must be built upon the Foundation of the Cross, or else it will go into error.

Being generous 10% of the Bible is given over to information regarding Salvation. About 90% or more is given over to instruction as it regards living for the Lord. And all of this instruction can be summed up in the extremely abbreviated form of just three phrases: A The Cross B. Your Faith; and C. The Holy Spirit. In overly simplistic form, those three phrases describe God’s prescribed order of Victory. We have done our very best to explain every Scripture in the New Testament according to this

All these answers are correct in a way but not the answer you seek. The Pharisees did not believe he was the messiah, so they were the ones who had him arrested.. The pharisees took Jesus to their court and they sent him to the roman court where pilot sentenced him to death.

CW you can learn all there is to learn about the actual process by reading the Gospels. It'll take you less than 30 minutes to read the pertinent bits.

Pilate, the Roman governor, ordered the execution at the behest of the Pharisees. The execution was carried out by Roman soldiers. Although Judas betrayed Jesus it's unlikely that he was part of the plot to execute him. He probably believed that Jesus had supernatural powers and would use them to save his own life.

If your book is fiction you can create any characters you need, whether Hebrew or Roman.
