My school has abandon bikes. They are willing to give them to me. What is the law in GA or Atlanta that pertains to bicycles?

Bicycles are clearly abandoned. School is willing to give them to me. They want proof that they are legally allowed to do so. That would me having proof of an ordnance or law. I need to find a Atlanta or Ga that law that deals with bikes.

Laws of such nature are usually under abandon, unclaimed, or found property laws, but I have not been able to locates Georgia's law. It is possible that they are using a national law.

I know here in Washington state, if a bike appears to be abandoned and you want it, you turn it in to the police as found and tell them that you would like to have it if no one claims it. They hold onto it for 30 days, if no one claims it, they contact you, you pick it up and they basically give you a receipt proving that you went through that process.

It's just a bike, no one will really care.

I think it needs to be turned over to the police first. Call the local police department and ask them what needs to be done.
