Yes, and in some ways that's good, in some ways that's bad. I'd like to see us return to the days when kids referred to adults as "Ma'am" or "Sir" (I'm teaching my kids that) but I do NOT wanna return to the days when blacks referred to whites as "Master". There was a time when people in this country knew their neighbors and actually spoke to them, today we stare down at our cellphones and listen to our iPods. I don't want the technology to go away, but I'd love to see people being sociable again.
I am saddened by the loss of morality, because of the resulting increase of teen moms and dads. I am heartened by the increased acceptance of people who are different from us. I'm saddened by lack of respect for people in authority, like the police. I am saddened by the fact that people in authority earn less respect. I am heartened by the fact that many police and firefighters are terribly brave and willing to sacrifice everything to protect those whom they don't even know. I am delighted with the increased positive involvement of men with their children, and the expanding role of women. I am saddened by the increase in numbers of divorce. I guess it is evolution in all aspects--the good along with the bad--but it has definitely changed!
America is turning away from God at an alarming rate and it is deplorable. People are being lied to by other people claiming sepperation of church and state in the constitution, which by the way is NOT in the constitution.
I've lived long enough to know for a fact it's different, someways it's better as in technology, when I was young some things we enjoy now were pure science fiction. Worst difference people no longer respect family unit like they used to.The bad part, racists ruled the country, there were no civil rights for minority's.people say life was simpler then, it was not, all the truths were hidden from us then. We lived an illusion. With modern tech. We are privy to much more info. There's more truth out there now than there's ever been. Life seems hard to young people now . But it always was hard. It's just a new set of problems. I've seen many leaders come and go, but the people prevail, and will continue to. I would pick the present over the past, these are exciting times
