How do you get to the end in minecraft

I have the xboxedition and I followedthe eye of ender but nothing happend I couldn't get in

u will need to find the strong hold
then u will need lots of ender pearls and put them in the... i forgot wat it was but its yellow and green after there are enough ender pearls the portal will open
p.s. do not go in the atrong hold unless u r playing peaceful becuz there are silverfish and they fallow u every where till u die :)

You have to find the stronghold, but it's really rare.
