My ''best friend'' is getting on my nerves...

I've known her for the past 4 yrs,& our friendship has been great. The problem started when we got into high school.I went through things&changed.I grew up.I mean, lately it's like she doesn't even know me.She just talks about herself, and how fabulous she is,how she's so smart,so pretty, blah blah.Don't get me wrong,I adore fashion and have a good deal of confidence in myself.I just don't feel like sitting around her house while she sweet-talks to herself.I lost a lot of weight over the summer&I guess she started getting jealous&she started trying to make sure that she was on top at all times.I try to change the subject,or at least compliment myself so I don't look like a sack of potatoes just sitting there marveling at her beauty but she doesn't listen.I love makeup&fashion..but I mean.. How do I say this? SHUT THE HECK UP.She doesn't talk about real matters, nothing runs deeper in her than superficiality. Ehem. Sorry. Ranting. The POINT is that she gets offended easily and is so defensive that she won't listen to you if you try to bring the issues up.Idk how to tell HER any of this without it seeming like random cruelty that she will just ignore.

You just need to sit her down and make her listen to you. Make sure that you let her know that you are uncomfortable with her behavior and that she should change if she wants to maintain your friendship. Let her know what she should work on and ask her what she does not like about you so that you can both work on keeping your friendship.

People you're friends with changes SO MUCH in high school, if you are really annoyed just don't put as much effort into your relationship as you usually might. Just let yourself drift apart from her without making a big deal of it. Find other friends that have more in common/ more substance. But friends change a lot trust me

Thanks. :3 I'll try to work on it, 'cause I care for the friendship & if nothing changes I guess I'll abandon it altogether.
