Why do people beat themselves up over pointless things? Really.

I understand being upset over losing a member of the family or something. that's not what i'm talking about.

I'm talking about, why do people make themselves feel bad over things that don't matter? like ohh my girlfriend/boyfriend left me, BIG DEAL.
or ohh my mom yelled at me and won't see things my way, BIG DEAL.

do you just feel better crying over things that don't really matter at all?
There's so many real problems in the world....
seriously, can you just not get over your little issues or what.......?

Not everyone is as perfect as you are Neallll.

Seems to me that you have a problem that you should get over too.

oh yeah, and I'm sure you could tell me what that is, couldn't you?

I actually have the proper mind set to not let myself get so worked up about things that don't matter.

Seems to me that you're defending your right to be a cry baby.
Don't worry it's not against the law, wheep on.
Just remember how unimportant it is, and keep in mind there are real problems in the world.

Neallll, if I have to state the obvious. You are the one who's whining about others whining.
Report as
i'm not whining i'm just curious as to why people are such big babies.
I really don't care what people do, it's their life, if they want to waste it being sad over things that don't matter, feel free.
Report as
Or waste it worrying about what others do, a waste none the less.

glad you could see it my way merrilltom :)

Well obviously it does bother you, otherwise you wouldn't have asked this same exact question twice last night, within hours of each other.

people who beat themselves up over "small things" dont understand the real issues in the world, therefore those "small problems" seem like big problems to them.

You're the only one who gave me a good answer to this. Everyone else is trying to defend the right to be negative over pointless things.

Thank you, for not being one of those over emotional cry babys.
The world could use more people like you :)

Usually when a person gets upset over things that don't matter, they're really upset over something they either cannot deal with or have refused to deal with. The unresolved issue colors their reaction to everything else-no matter how important or unimportant it is.
