Some "feel" only through adversity/fear/pain one may grow and appreciate all that is available in life. Surely, an individual can discern/enjoy the sweetness and succulence of a mango, before the tasting of bitter fruit.
This question is like, "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" Lots of answers that are right for lots of people. In my opinion, I believe the answer is yes, and I get that from watching the joy expressed by innocent children who have yet to experience sadness or emotional pain.
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from hell Blue skies from pain Can you tell a green field From a cold steel rail A smile thru a vail Do you think you can tell? ------- We would not know the good without the bad. We would not appreciate the good without the bad. There would not be good without the bad.

Wow! You simply described the biblical god's heaven (pleasure without pain) and hell (pain without pleasure)!!
If what you said was true, then, how do Christians claim to be enjoying eternal pleasure in heaven, where there will be no pain; or how do they even threaten the non-Christians with eternal pain in hell, where there will be no pleasure?
