Mandatory national service of some kind, yes. Military only, no. Some people are not suited to the military life. I got in enough trouble with mps as a civilian, if I had joined, I would have done my entire service in the brig. But it should be required that everybody give something of themselves to improving our country
Right off the top of my head I'd day no. But thinking about it more it probably wouldn't be a bad idea. A structured military lifestyle for even 2 years would certainly do every young person some good. This is something we should look into deeper. I believe this could help in changing attitudes and become a beginning to turning this country. Good question. Thank you.

I wholeheartedly agree with Boo. I will add that when we invest ourselves in something we tend to appreciate it more, and be more concerned about its well-being. Mandatory service of some kind would absolutely make for better citizens. It would also bring us all closer together by giving each of us a shared connection.
