What are some diets that will be more likely for someone to stick with?

I have trouble sticking to alot of diets. I have cut back calories back to only 1000 started exercising for a hour a day. I only eat veggies fruits and items with protein and fiber and still can't get the weight to come off or even budge. so I need any ideas to help Thanks.

I would research the Atkins Diet, the Flat Belly Diet, and the glycemic index.

I would also suggest not looking at it as a "diet" but as a lifestyle change. You want to be healthier, not just lose pounds, right? The lifestyle is more important than a short-term diet.

What I do is I have Jillian Michaels protein powder, and I make a smoothie for breakfast using a scoop of powder, one CarbSteady yogurt cup, a splash of milk, a banana, and some ice. That or an Atkins meal bar will hold me til lunch.

Lunch and dinner consist of a focus on lean proteins, fiber, and green veggies. Plenty of water, too. If you want to season something, I suggest using spices instead of sauces.

Thank You. I feel like I've tried everything. I've talked my doctor's and they just say stick with what your doing and it will come off. but I am 26 and weigh 235 and I want to lose after a year and only lost a pound I am getting annoyed with it. but I want to be healthy again.

I know the feeling. Are you talking to your general doctor, or your GYN? My GYN is the one who gave me the advice above, and I've lost more weight in the past couple months than in the past couple years. She is really helpful because she understands how hormones play into weight loss. Basically, fiber and protein digest slower and leave you full longer, the fiber helps with cholesterol, and the green veggies give a bunch of vitamins. Overall, though, it involves more cooking at home, which is time consuming but actually you'll get to the point where your tastes evolve and you don't like any of that over-processed stuff anymore... home cooked meals just plain taste better.

Well, 1000 calories a day is not something anyone could stick to. Your body needs more calories than that just to function. Best thing is to find an exercise you like and routinely practice it. Also, use portion control to keep your calories down. Buy smaller plates if you have to. It really helps.

Sensible ones that don't me it into a boring chore. Like the Richard Simmons one where you log in a diary what you ate. A diet where soda, and other high calories are forbidden is best.

Then calorie counting and water aerobics at least 3 times a week would be my goal. It's what I do. There are some fitness apps that are really helpful. I use MyFitnessPal.

I think overall that the best "lifestyle change" is Weight Watchers. It teaches you how to eat "real food" for the rest of your life. There's no food you "can't" eat. You just learn how to control your portions. I like the idea of still being able to eat chocolate ice cream, chocolate cake, pie, etc. You just fit it into your plan!
