There are over-the-counter tablets that you can get to help cure vertigo. Some of them include Meclizine hydrochloride, Dimenhydrinate and DizzyStop. They come in different forms of tablets, capsules and skin patches. Get more details from http://www.livestrong.com/article/269065-over-the-counter-medications-for-dizziness/. However, before taking any of this, you must get a doctor's prescription.

I think you meant to say that a doctor should be consulted before taking any over the counter meds. If it's OTC, a prescription isn't needed.

There is a prescription drug that will help vertigo. One of the possible side effects? Dizziness!! :-) (I have vertigo and decided that putting up with an episode now and then was better than taking meds that might make me dizzy.)

There are medications that treat different causes of it, but you will need to go to an ENT to determine the cause.
