What mineral is used to make "copper" pennies, brass, and nails

Report as

Copper pennies used to be copper. Now they are mostly zinc with a copper plating. Brass is copper and tin...most brass items are actually brass plated and steel (Iron and Carbon) beneath due to the cost of copper. Don't know that I would want a copper nail...too malleable. So Minerals: Cu, Zn, Tn, Fe, C....not really just one :)
