There are many symptoms. Bipolar disorder is very serious and if you think you may have it you should see a doctor or get help from a close friend or family member. Usually the symptoms of hypomania/depression last for a few months on end. You're not alone, I know how you feel and admitting that you need help is the scariest part but once you get through that, it is so much better. Hope this helped : )

Not necessarily. It is far different than that but stereotyped as two personalities. It is actually a chemical imbalance. Two personalities is multiple personality disorder. Bipolar is a switch in moods between hypomania and deep dark depression. The symptoms usually last a few months. Sorry about the rant, I am just very overprotective when it comes to health issues that I have closely dealt with.

You see a psychologist and get properly diagnosed.

go to a psychologist or your doctor, and talk to them about it. They should have some type of questionnaire to help them identify if you are bipolar or not.

It is extremely rare but fortunately psychiatrists are really enjoying the kickbacks from falsely diagnosing it....and prescribing meds for it.
