Firstly I think people are misinterpreting this question. The questioner isn't saying anything is wrong with interracial marriage. . Now my answer: I don't think people really pay attention to race when it comes to marriage. Whether they're attracted only depends on who they are, not what race they are. I see just as many single-race couples (for lack of a better term) as I see interracial.
Racial Discrimination can be defined as the exclusion or inclusion of a group based on race. EIther way it's wrong. You should follow you heart. If you are in love the color of their skin shouldn't matter. But to pick someone or reject someone because of their race is racism. There does seem to be a movement in The United States in which white people are feeling pressure to go out with black people to prove they aren't racist. If you're in love with someone the color of their skin shouldn't matter. Seeking out a type of person or rejecting a person because of their skin color is just another form or racism. And trying to dictate who another person should or shouldn't go out with or marry is just wrong.
I think you're just seeing it more because Interracial couples no longer have to hide. Don't forget, not that long ago it was illegal for many to marry. Also, the fear of being beaten, lynched and killed was a pretty good incentive to keep these relationships secret.
If you are just noticing interracial couples, ask yourself - why? People of all nationalities have been involved for many years and finding common interest which eliminate ignorance of "color" which only short sighted people care about. Why you question love - which is blind to ignorance. By the way, my husband is Caucasian and I'm an African woman. I pray you find a person who will strengthen you as a couple regardless of background. A person who recognize the gem that they have and continue to keep it safe and polish even when things seems dull or common as most relationships tends to get with longevity.
Fun Fact: America will have more 'minorities' by 2040 than whites. History has shown us when there are different 'races' in one area they will "marry" and eventually creates a new race or culture in a country. Latinos are an example of this- Spanish, native, and African ancestors. Humans are constantly 'evolving', it's nothing to be afraid of.
We know there has always been an attraction, white slave masters had sex with slaves & most African american people have some trace of white blood in them because of this. We are witnessing a new chapter in american history love it or hate its inevitable........... The attraction has always been there.
