Well, there's this theory about a warrior gene, which means babies can be born evil. It's a gene that travels through the family and is passed onto offspring. However the gene needs to be activated, it can be set off by a rough upbringing, when set off the person sort of... turns out evil. If it's not set off the baby may grow up to be predisposed to having a really quick temper, and when they get angry they get really angry... Anyways, that's a cheery fact to brighten your day, babies can be born evil :)
I might not say evil, but we're definately not "good." "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus." q: what is the reference? I'm bad with those.

It feels good to be good. As a result, most people are good. Unfortunately, it also feels good to make sure your offspring have the best odds possible, and often that means doing things that are considered evil. The fact that it doesn't feel good to do this is easily overridden by our desire to help OUR next generation, and ensure the propagation of OUR genes.
The Bible teaches that as a result of the fall of man (Genesis 3:6) every part of man-his mind, will, emotions and flesh-have been corrupted by sin. In other words, sin affects all areas of our being including who we are and what we do. It penetrates to the very core of our being so that everything is tainted by sin and "all our righteous acts are like filthy rags" before a holy God (Isaiah 64:6). It acknowledges that the Bible teaches that we sin because we are sinners by nature. The total depravity of man is seen throughout the Bible. Man's heart is "deceitful and desperately wicked" (Jeremiah 17:9), and the thoughts of his heart are "continually evil" (Genesis 6:5). (cont in comments)
Actually! Humans are naturally evil. Watch a two year old when you tell him NO!doesnt he instinctively head for that cookie anyway? You have to teach them HOW to be good! That evil is there from the seed of Adam! It is a struggle all thru life. WeWANT to do good..... But our hearts are evil! Its a war between the human (worldly)nature and spiritual nature!
Romans 7:19, 20 highlights this exact point: "19 For the good that I wish I do not do,+ but the bad that I do not wish is what I practice. 20 If, now, what I do not wish is what I do, the one working it out is no longer I, but the sin dwelling in me."
Romans 3:23 also states "For all have sinned+ and fall short of the glory of God,"
