What is the difference between super glue and Elmer's glue

Report as

Super glue was designed by the military & had many uses during Viet-Nam like glueing large sections of chopper & airplane parts back on when rivits wern't avilable. I hear it was also used to glue large pieces of our veterans together to keep them from bleeding to death before getting to a MASH unit.
Elmers is more of a paste that is water soluable & small kids can eat without hurting themselves.

Elmer's glue is for paper and wood. Super glue is more for plastic, glass and many more different applications.

Elmers is water soluble. Super glue isn't, but may let go at any inconvenient moment. Well, it has for me (tea cup dropping when holding handle).

The chemical name for Instant Krazy Glue® is ethyl cyanoacrylate - a non-toxic, colorless, extremely fast-acting, strong adhesive. In its pure form, it can lift 2000 pounds per square inch.
