What are some easy dinners to make?

Need easy and cheap.
I can bake but I can't cook many things yet.
Has to be cheap because well we don't have money to throw around when were not even sure what were doing.
Also NO CHICKEN or steak please... Thanks.
And NO pizza. Tired of making that.

Cook any pasta to directions, set aside. In small pot on LOW heat, mix Olive oil- Dried Parsley, Basil,Thyme, finely chopped Garlic, Black Pepper. (Leave to simmer on LOW heat), Microwave pkg of sweet peas( prefer Green Gaint, do not overcook). Return Pasta to pot over LOW heat, pour Olive Oil mix over and toss. Place in large Bowl , spread peas on top , sprinkle with any Hard Dry Cheese such as Parmesan, Romano, Manchego.
Personall prefer. thin spaghetti, linguine or any fine pasta this way.
Can use any veggie, fresh or frozen steam packs best, canned too mushy(unless it's corn)
Expand basic idea by using oil mixture to suate sliced yellow and green squash(zuchinni) , chopped onion and finely chopped dried or fresh tomatoes and or red peppers
There's no limit on the variety of ingredients you can make in this basic way, can add sliced/chopped heated pre-cooked sausage/kielbasa or any other meat you'd like.
Easy, reasonably cheap and once you get the hang of it quick and infinite ways of modifying. Bon Apetit!:-)

Actually Curiousity, Tacos done healthy by substituting 1/2 ground Turkey( or all if don't eat Red Meat) and following directions on Taco Mix Seasoning not a bad idea. What's nice about it is you can make double portion, cool and put in small containers to freeze up to 6 months! Bingo, take out Micro or Pot Heat for quick easy meal anytime. :-)

No I agree it's a good idea I just don't see it as a thing we can make together. In my family it's like a get out of work late or having a friend over kind of thing.

Buy some frozen chicken or stir fry dinners where you open the package, put it in the microwave. It comes with a sauce packet you heat up. Mix together and viola you have dinner in minutes

That was a long time ago. Now I'm married to a really good cook and need to do with much less food for a while so I can get back into my good jeans.

Slice up a package of hot dogs, saute them in a little butter. Add a large can of Bush's baked beans, add 1/4 cup of water, good healthy squirt of catsup and a little squirt of mustard. Simmer on low for about 15 min. Gooood stuff.

Brown up some ground beef (with onions, if you like), drain, add one cup of water, a pinch of Rosemary, little salt, little pepper. Bring to a bubble and thicken with flour and water until you have a nice gravey. Simmer for about 1/2 hour. Throw some mashed potatoes on a plate and dump some of the beef mixture on top and chow down.

You can make a casserole out of just about anything. Throw veggies, rice, cheese, cream of chicken (mushroom, whatever) and whatever meat you like in a pan and bake about 40 min

Make velveeta mac n cheese like normal, meanwhile brown a pound of ground beef, drain, then mix with a can of tomato soup. Then mix all ingredients together. I know it sounds weird but its phenomenal!! It's called Goolash :)

Stir in 3 tbsp chili powder, 1 can diced Ortega chilis, 1/2 tsp dry oregano, 1/2 tsp ground cumin, 1/8 tsp cayenne if you like things spicy, 1/8 tsp ground cinnamon. Stir in one large can (28 oz or so) of diced tomatoes, two 16 oz cans if cannelloni beans that have been drained and rinsed, and 1 cup low sodium chicken broth. Cook for 30 min or so adjusting salt and pepper to taste. To make if go further cook some rice too. Serve chili plain or over rice with sour cream, grated cheddar and tortilla chips.
