I was playing basketball and my finger bent back... now I can't bend it or keep it straight and its swollen. Any ideas of How to make the swelling and pain to subside??

Report as

Someone needs to pull it really hard to pop it back into place. It will hurt, but not for long. Then apply ice.

But the ice part is nice :D

Yes. Or else it won't get better, and it will hurt for a very long time and actually may need surgery. I'm not exaggerating.

The above is real bad idea. Please see a medical professional to determine if it's sprained or broken. Use ice to keep swelling down, then use heat after 24 hours to relieve pain.

Ice/heat. It will reduce the swelling and the ice will numb the pain.

I did the same thing in PE. My finger was swollen like a susage. It went down in a few days. No real worries.
