I backslid for 30 years,up & down for 5 yrs, been standing for 1 1/2 yrs but its getting harder each day.I am confused & seem worthlesss.

I have a church, read the bible daily, apply its instructions somewhat. I would get counciling but I can't articulate my condition and have consuming fear.

Until Lambs become Lions. Rise, rise again. But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:31 KJV)

Every journey begins with the first step. Unsure of your circumstances, but most people do not realize their full potential without a "push" from Life. You'll survive. Everyone needs a little validation along the way. STAMP! You been approved to move forward. Good Luck!

My simple yet honest answer, give it to Christ. Let Him deal with things you can't. It will set you free from the baggage you're holding onto. Pray, repent, read the bible. God bless you.

The simple ones are always the best. But I know where he is and it really is not that easy. It is a lonely scary place.

Suzie I know we just met, but can I ask a Personal favor

Of course you can. And I've been where he's at myself. Not easy but the stronger we get in Christ the easier. Ask away!

Reading his question God put it on my heart to reach out to him and offer my help. I have helped people before but not since I have come back to the Lord. My favor is for you to pray especially hard for me. I won't lie it scares me because it is also fresh. I need strength if he excepts my offer. And second can I use you as a confidant if I should need one. Feel absolutely free to say no. I ask bc I see your heart for God and your grasp of understanding. Plus I trust you.

No. You are God's creation. You are confused but never worthless. Nicholas listen to me. I have walked the road you are standing on. I in some ways am still on the road. But I am not standing. I am walking. Ultimately no man can tell what you have to do to fix it. But if you want I will share my story with you. Maybe it can help maybe not. I don't know. I will however not do it here because of the personal nature. And I will tell you this. No matter what anybody says it is not doctrine or dogma or certain beliefs that can are the problem or the answer. Your problem Is establishing a true healthy relationship with the God and Savior you already have. And the only way that will happen is talk to him.

Wow, I hope the great answers from howlinwolf, bobby, suzie and timjim helped, because I'm not sure if I can add anything better to that.
Maybe I can make a personal observation based on what you said:
You fell again and again, but you kept rising back up. You're standing now (bravo!), but feel shaky sometimes.
-- This does NOT sound like a worthless person to me. You sound like a person with a very strong and good heart at the core, doing the very best you can. Again, bravo!
If you can't manage counciling yet, at least talk to the pastor/priest at your church and tell him/her of your struggle and ask for some guidance in keeping on your feet.
Sometimes, by helping others (even in the smallest ways) we can help center ourselves. Maybe ask the pastor about helping (in any form) with church projects or functions. Or offer to wash dishes or bus tables at a charity kitchen or homeless shelter. Whatever you feel you can do.
I remember a story about Jesus washing his disciples' feet. If I remember correctly, he was trying to show by example that serving or helping others is not humbling or degrading, but uplifting. His crucifixion was just a larger echo of that act.
If you're not Christian, I hope I haven't offended you. All religions seem to have similar versions of this outlook, however.
You'll do well, because you've come so far, already. Just trust that strong heart of yours and keep rising. :)

We all live in this sinful flesh but in the eyes of our Father, you are holy, righteous, accepted...a son.
Dig in the Word and transform your mind to the way our Lord thinks.

Fear is not from God but from Satan. I think of Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed , for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Pour your entire heart to Jesus and tell him it's impossible to live this Christian life without him. Every time for feel scared, confused, about to crack tell Jesus about it. He already knows you are struggling. He is standing by ready to help. The amplified version of this scripture says that God will strengthen and harden you difficulties. I'll pray for you!

Stand by the promises of God and Pray and Mediate in His Word day and night.

2 Corinthians 12:10

10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

1 Corinthians 16:13

13 Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Proverbs 3:5-6

5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Isaiah 43:1

43 But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob,
And He who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by your name;
You are Mine.

These scriptures have helped me and many others when I am feeling the way you are:

“As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset, so far off from us he has put our transgressions. For he himself well knows the formation of us, remembering that we are dust.” (Psalm 103:8, 12, 14) Truly, Jehovah is “the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation.”—2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

Throw your burden upon Jehovah himself,
And he himself will sustain you.
Never will he allow the righteous one to totter.
(Psalm 55:22)

(Proverbs 24:16) For the righteous one may fall even seven times, and he will certainly get up; but the wicked ones will be made to stumble by calamity.

Don't let the past get you don. Jehovah God cares for you. He wants you to return to Him. =)

That is satan playing tricks on you, Jesus knew you were worth dieing for. Satan knows he has lost the war and wants to take as many with him as possible, keep talking to God.
For you:
Heavenly Father, I come before the throne of grace praising your name and thanking you for all you are and have done in our lives,I lift this person up to you. Satan is trying extra hard to break their spirit, please place the hedge of Job around to protect them. I humbly pray in Jesus name. Amen.
