depends on your situation. everybody is different. Bipolar can sometimes be controlled naturally, or counseling might be needed, or medication might be necessary. I have a friend with bipolar, and was initially diagnosed with it myself (Wrong diagnosis, but so not the point, back to the point.) and her treatment was focused mainly on medications with some counseling, my treatment was focused on the counseling with medications as little as possible. my mom wanted to keep me on as little medication as possible, so my treatment was focused on counseling. my friend's family was a busy family, so when I was going 2-3 times a week to counseling, she was on more medications and went to counseling once a week.
