To give us steadfast hope in a shakey world.: do not be dismayed. We look around and see these dark days... But know that the darkness comes before the Dawn. Our hope is not in not in politics, science or sociology. Our hope is in a sure knowledge of the coming of the Lord. Because He said He would come back for us and we know He does not /can not lie. He is faithful and sure to do that!
Hope this helps( info came from the
Adrian Rodgers commentary of scripture Bible!

Amen! And it also deals with the scripture I shared earlier about the great falling away from the truth in these last days. Thank You lilly for your response. I pray your day goes well and may His light shine upon you. God Bless! P.S. I like Arian Rogers as well.

I agree! He gives us hope of his return. The world has gotten wicked and alot have lost their faith. They feel he has forgotten us. He is telling us to hold on to our faith that he is coming back for his people!

That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

You want me to glorify Jesus Christ (whose name would actually have been Yeshua or Joshua; Jesus is the GREEK version). I respect the concept of the man and his teachings, but am not convinced that historically he even existed. No offense. Not trying to sway your belief; just stating mine.

Grace, love, wonderful words huh?
Report as
Yes, they are. Not arguing against that for a moment. Just because I don't believe in the Bible literally, doesn't mean I don't recognize that there is wisdom there.
Report as
There can be wisdom found anywhere! Even a song by Zep or something. haha
Report as
Also true. Wisdom and foolishness are all around us. The trick is knowing which is which.

Well, here's my interpretation:

There is always going to be a source of wickedness, just as there is a source of good and grace. Wickedness may seem awe inspiring and wonderful here on earth, but these things from Satan are condemned by God.

It means there will be an apostasy before Christ's return. Some believe this has already happened, others think it is still to happen.

Based on your past behavior I assume you're asking only to use it as a platform so you can tell us all "the right answer" while finding fault with anyone who thinks differently.

My interpretation:
It is a warning about people who will use the name and teachings of God as a cover for their wickedness. It is saying to watch out for these people. Hopefully you are familiar with Papal corruption(past and present). Presently, the Pope lives in the Vatican Palace and has a summer castle, Castel Gandolfo(so much for identifying with the poor).

I don't know how he can live with himself. But comfortably by the looks at it.
Report as
It appears very comfortable haha. I am an atheist, and I would never want that much because I would feel guilty for having so much and not helping others more.

Oh same here. I would be sickened knowing about the starving children while I sat on my golden throne. They are going to be destroyed you know. It's in Rev. 17.

James why don't you tell us. That's why you post things right? To exalt yourself above others? We all know what it's saying. We are not stupid. You are not the only one who understands the bible James. Contrary to your own belief.

Hahaha, Z, just noticed that. Actually it's not what he said to me I'm upset about. He first came on a several months ago giving me massive attitude and judging. But I forgave, even with no apology, I don't hold grudges. But he's chased off so many. Then this week was the last straw. I've had it with him and his judgmental ways. It goes so against Christ it's not funny.

Don't abandon your kind ways Suzie, you seem a good soul. St James will put you on his ignore list. I have an asterisk next to my name on it.
