Is mixed species breeding possible?

Report as

Hello,
It is possible, as someone else said, to breed very similar organisms of the same Genus. Some additional information on why these cross breeds called "hybrids" aren't always capable of fertilization is that there at "pre-zygotic barriers". These help with limiting hybridization. There's also "post-zygotic barriers" which cause things like infertility or unfavorable living ability. I hope this helped

Like birds? Chicken and turkey? No. Reptiles and amphibians no. Just some mammals.

Only if they are very, very closely related, like the horse and burro or the tiger and lion.

They have to be the same species, you can breed different animals if there the same species, but this creates hybrids that don't reproduce
