How do you cope with/get rid of unnecessary guilt?

somebody said something to me, a few days ago, that triggered a memory. I've had a hard time letting go of it since. I've been told, and re-assured that it's fine, in the past and now. But for some reason, I keep holding on. it's causing anxiety-I need to stop but I'm not sure how. tips? thanks! (it probably would make more sense if I explained what it was, but it's complicated. anyway thanks!)

I just think to myself, "There isn't any reason to be guilty." I find ways to forget, or just not think about it, to rid myself of the thought causing guilt.Sorry, wish I could be more helpful, but I can't think of anything right now. I am sort of going through the same thing, at the moment.

You must learn to let old things go ! You're going to drive yourself crazy if you don't let these things go ! I've had some horrible things said to me here and elsewhere in life and I just file them away to be forgotten ! You've got to release yourself from these things ! Go do something and have some fun ! Smiling always works for me ! C,mon young lady , you're too smart to let things constantly bother you . Grab the bull by the horns and take care of this ! Don't let things eat away at you ! Let it go ! SMILE !!!!!

Yes, Rowan Atkinson. Those are two of my favorite shows ever! Much better than this filth they call T.V nowadays. I own the entire thing of Blackadder. Hugh Laurie is amazing. btw, this is CaptainThorLoki. I cant comment for 30 minutes on my other account.
