Depends on their religion & what they've been taught. God is sometimes the father & creator of Jesus; sometimes Jesus is one & the same as God. (Because God works thru Jesus.) Both ideas are a beautiful belief, why argue?
Just remember, the world does not revolve around your religion. There are many opinions of this and you should respect that. Jesus is not God in any religion really, he is the Son, like everyone said above.
John 10:30 I and my father are one. and that's Jesus speaking Galatians 3:20 God is one. James 2:19 thou believest that there is 1 God thou doest well The Devil's also believe and tremble. Ephesians 4:4,6 there is 1 body and 1 spirit 1 God and Father of all who is above all and through all and in you all. and my favorite Isaiah 9:6 for unto us a child is born unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders and his name shall be called wonderful counselor THE MIGHTY GOD THE EVERLASTING FATHER THE PRINCE OF PEACE. there you have some of the scriptures I can keep going on to help you :)
God's name is not Jesus. First, you'd be better off not to carry God's name (true or false names) in vain. Second, God's name is given by the Tetragrammaton, YHWH. Suggesting that God is called after a mortal, born of woman (and man), a sinner and blasphemer, is the greatest blasphemy against God I could imagine.
I'm with the Jews. Jesus wasn't god. Why do you believe he is? It makes no real sense to interpret the Bible or the story of Jesus as literal. Be not afraid to see the truth.. You've been lied to about religion in order to control your thinking.
Because its not really. God is God. If you need a name its YHWH or Jehovah. Jesus was the man who walked on earth and was crucified. A human name. Jesus is now Christ, son of God and part of God and INE with God but GOD Himself reigns supreme even over Jesus Christ and the Holy Spurit. They are ONE but also Three and as Three God is above Jesus. Jesus is God but Gods name is not Jesus except as He existed on earth for 32 years (during which time He ALSO existed in heaven simultaneously as GOD or YHWH, or, as He calls Himself, I Am.
That's hilarious because the name Jesus does not appear NOT even once in the Old Testament. If you read the OT in Hebrew, his name is 'Adonai'. If you read it in Arabic, his name is 'Allah' and in Emglish it's Jehovah. Where do you see the name Jesus in the OT? Now dont quote me a book.

CurtisL, while he was a man, he was known as Jesus. But when he died and rose again, he became the Christ. Here's a verse that the Apostle Paul wrote about one of his little churches that he had not had a chance to visit. Colossians 2:2 "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; "v.3 "In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Paul is saying that God is a Father and He has a Son who is the Christ. And faith in Christ's shed blood would replace salvation thru adherence to the Law. And believers who understand and acknowledge that have "all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.") And skipping to verse 8," Beware lest any man spoil you thru philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." V.9 "For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead boldly." (Paul is saying that there is a Godhead, and that Christ completes it). Thank you for your interesting question. Bye! Beth
