Of 30 vegetables, if 20 were sliced, and 18 were diced, then at most ? were neither sliced nor diced

PLEASE HELP!!! It is from the CNML grade 8 Math contest from 2005-2006! it is either A) 2 B)8 C)10 D)12
i need the answer to what the ? is in the question

here's some logical thinking for you: they can be sliced, or diced, but if you're going to dice them, you're supposed to slice them first. so in those 20 that were sliced, 18 of those were also diced. so the maximum number of not sliced or diced, would be 10.

10. Since the sliced ones could also be diced. So if 18 of the sliced ones are also diced it means two are only sliced ,but that leaves only 10 that are neither sliced nor diced. So 10.
