Abraham Lincoln slept with men, and James Buchanan was a life long bachelor (not that that makes someone gay though); I say we've already had a gay president in the past, just closeted, lol. I see a woman though to become a president of the US before an openly gay man/ woman.

I am an admirer of Lincoln and have done some in depth studying of him. Yes, he slept with a man, but it was because there was only one bed. Things were different in Lincoln's day, less fear of being called gay because people minded their own business. It was practical to sleep in the same bed, so they did. There is no convincing evidence that he was gay, in fact, quite the contrary.

Could of very well have been for that reason. But in a very large house, while he was president, him and an army officer of his shared a bed together when the wife was away at Abraham presidential retreat. Even at the time, a lot of people gossiped about the nature of their relationship. A woman who was close to the two man even wrote in her diary once "There is a bucktail soldier devoted to the president... Drives with him... And when Mrs. L is not home, sleeps with him..."

As I sit hear in a hospital waiting room waiting to see someone recovering from back surgery, their back damaged from years of hard physical work. I'm listening to a family and friends debate different ways to milk the system. I really don't think looks will matter. This is why I don't carry a gun. People like these just about put me over the top. Oh yeah it sounds like some of them just got back from a vacation in Mexico. But are complaining because their AFDC check arrived late

Do you choose who you are attracted to? I certainly don't! I have natural inclinations that lead me to prefer skinny women with large breasts and a nice butt.

Because being gay or straight is linked to their genetic makeup, they are attracted to people of the same sex. They have natural inclinations different from yours.

They respond to their inclinations in the same way that you do.

In fact, once a woman reaches menopause, even if she's already married, her marriage is nullified by her non-fertile condition. Right?

If the sole defining characteristic, and purpose, of marriage is that the couple be able to breed, then you must oppose allowing any of these people to get, or even to STAY married. Clearly.

It is ok to "be gay" as long as you do not act sexually on that position. however i think is perfectly ok to marry whenever you want no matter how old you are(as long as it is a legal age in your state), what period you are in, what state of health you are in, etc. as long as you are male and female as god designed it. there are plenty of people who get married and are able to have kids but never do. thats ok. by the wway wickedpissah i agree with your name you are a piss ant. i say this because not only does that constitutional law say that you cant push a faith on someone it also says(or at least a related one) that you may not diss, hate on, deny any one elses faith which im pretty sure was your entiresecond to last paragraph. I said I was done with a discussion on another question, I think.

Here is the definition of "Animal" that I pulled from the Merriam- Webster website:

This definition clearly shows that humans are, in fact, animals.
All animals have different traits. Our primary trait is superior intelligence and tool-making.
Other animals have traits that are better than ours.(Eagles have much better eye development than humans.)

In regards to homosexuality in humans, it is not surprising to see it when it is documented in many other species. Homosexuality is a genetic trait. I don't believe there is a "gay gene", but it is a side effect of certain genes. There are other hypotheses that discuss the roots of homosexuality. An example of that would be saying homosexuality is epigenetic, which relates to hormones effecting the DNA while in the womb.

I will also say that there is possibly an environmental factor as well.

So if humans are designed by "God" and made gay, would they not be blameless for being what they were made to be?

Mitt Romney was a pro-choice abortion supporter and he was a Mormon (which I think is considered a kind of christian).
Republican Presidents Nixon (Quaker), Ford (Christian), Reagan (christian), Bush Sr (christian), and Bush Jr (christian) all refused or failed to overturn Roe v Wade.
Heck, California Governor Ronald Reagan legalized abortion in his state in 1967! Six years before Roe v Wade.
So.... what does the abortion requirement have to do with anything?

It'll be a woman. Religion trumps everything in American right now. There is no way that religious fanatics (well, actually they don't even have to be fanatics) will allow an atheist on board until several generations later. Gay is not even favorable yet b/c of the whole spew of family values... so that leaves us with a woman. Either way, the ultra conservative religious nuts would rather have none of the 3, but it'll start with a woman.

Definitely a woman. Let's hope the next three dozen are women. It's time we all tap this vital resource. Atheists know their mind, we've had them already. Gay dudes, we've had them, too. But if the last two keep their mouths shut, who's gonna know? Kiss a girl and say Amen, and that's it.

A female president definitely. The amount of religous people is.. well a good majority of the US And also a good majority of the people against gays.

Most of the major leaders are Atheist but they attend church because it puts up a good front and is commonly accepted. Any religion they have is greed and the lust for power. Others may have been homosexual but if the media suspected they would keep it quiet, consider J. Edgar Hoover former head of the FBI and many who have had outside sexual interests that the media knew about but never told anyone publicly. While there has been no elected woman Presidents there were some that ran the country along with key aides when their husbands could not or would not do the job. I am sure sooner or later we will have an openly elected female President and they will do no better or worst than any of the others.

Are you hoping that a gay President would be assassinated, or are you saying that that would be a tragic likelihood?
And how exactly would an atheist President be the end of the world?

There's nothing wrong with atheism. I don't see why one atheist would end the world. I'm an atheist, just because I don't follow a religion or believe in a god, doesn't mean I'm some evil person that's trying to take over the world. Sheesh.
